Substance Use Assessments

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use, understanding the root causes and impact of addiction is the first step toward recovery. Substance use evaluations are designed to help individuals gain insight into their habits and behaviors, offering a clear path to treatment (if necessary) and healing.

What is a substance use evaluation?

A substance use evaluation is a thorough, confidential assessment conducted by trained professionals to determine the extent of substance use and its impact on daily life. It involves a series of interviews, screenings, and sometimes questionnaires to assess:

• The type of substances used

• Frequency and duration of use

• Impact on physical and mental health

• Social, legal, and occupational consequences

• Underlying mental health issues or co-occurring disorders

What to expect during the evaluation.

1. Initial Consultation: The evaluation begins with a one-on-one interview where we will discuss your substance use history, medical background, and any relevant personal information.

2. Screening Tools: Based on our initial consultation, you may be asked to complete a series of standardized questionnaires or screenings to help assess the severity of your substance use.

3. Assessment of Risk Factors: We will explore any potential risk factors such as mental health disorders, family history of addiction, or past trauma that may influence your substance use.

4. Collateral information: I will collect pertinent information from either a loved one or a professional who can share their experience re: your use of substances.

5. Treatment Recommendations: After the evaluation, I will provide a comprehensive summary of your assessment along with personalized recommendations for treatment or further care.

Why work with me?

You have many options when deciding where to get your SUD assessment. The benefit of choosing a professional who is independent of a treatment provider is that you have increased assuredness that the outcome and recommendations made are not connected to you actually signing up for treatment. With 20 yrs experience working with different treatment providers, I have insight and ability to make bespoke recommendations based on best fit, not who I work for. Because I don’t work for anyone but you.

My resume also makes me a skilled and seasoned evaluator. After years of working on the front lines in treatment centers as a family therapist, assessment provider, group leader, teacher, and more, I got my dream position as a Clinical Director at age 34. Shortly after, I became CEO (overseeing 3 facilities) at age 35. From top to bottom, I know and understand substance use disorders and treatment options.

What I offer is thorough, private, and deeply supportive.

Cost:
